We are currently searching for a Business Analyst/SQL Report Writer for a 1 year contrasct position for one of our clients in Birmingham, AL.

Responsibilities:
* Serve as a key member of the applications development team responsible for the creation, documentation, and support of the company's core/standardized reports from reporting databases
* Work closely with end-users to gather report requirements and ensure proper testing/validation, including reporting needed changes to the development team
* Document reports created and/or changes to existing reports
* Develops functional specifications and system design specifications for reports
* Write SQL code for extracting, summarizing, aggregating or presenting data from one or more database systems
* Present data retrieval results in the form of tables, pie charts, bar charts and other plots or diagrams; these data presentation duties are facilitated with reporting tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Crystal Reports or Microsoft Access
* Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions with project management

Preferred Skills:
Below are the required skills for this position:
* Bachelor degree or higher in a related technical field of study to the job responsibilities listed
* 3+ years of SQL experience, including programming and/or report generation with report writing tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Oracle Discoverer, IBM Cognos, Business Objects, Crystal Reports, MS Access, etc.
* Experience in a relational database Client Server environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to work well within a team oriented environment
