Provide primary support for Oracle database environments including daily operations, backup and recovery, performance monitoring and tuning, and production support
Provide advice and recommendations on database architecture, design and implementation
Develop, support and communicate database policies, standards, guidelines and procedures
Design and implement database solutions upholding high standards while meeting customer requirements for reliability,
, scalability, security and performance
Install, upgrade and test database software in addition to troubleshooting database issues
Responsible for development of database backup routines and recovery procedures, ensuring data integrity and identifying potential data errors
Plan and perform disaster recovery testing with database restoration in alternate locations
Assist development teams with planning and implementations, including review and approval of database schema changes, routines and query optimizations
Support software quality assurance, testing database designs and validating functionality and performance
Provide training and documentation for knowledge transfer to other database team members, and communicate to non-technical users as well as database and applications team members
Evaluate technologies for IT strategy
Support enterprise automation strategies and goals
Participate in 24x7 on call support rotation
Requirements include ...
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 8 years’ experience with database administration using Oracle 11g and 12c
Minimum 8 years’ experience with database architecture, high availability and disaster recovery
Proficiency with Backup and Recovery (RMAN, Standby, Dataguard)
Experience with database monitoring tools, performance tuning and query optimization
Experience supporting database components of software applications and understanding of entire software development lifecycle
Experience working in a Red Hat Linux/CentOS environment
Experience with UNIX/shell scripting
Demonstrated ability to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in
Excellent written, verbal and diagrammatic communication skills.
An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills
Ability to work with peers in a team effort
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
A well-organized and self-directed individual who is able to work with minimal amount of supervision
Capability to efficiently complete tasks in a fast paced environment
