Financial Analyst – Healthcare Economics
Full time Analyst role with a growing managed care provider in the Boston area. Senior Economics Analyst is a key member of the Analytics team and will be responsible for providing support for ACO analytics and reporting . The Analyst will conduct advanced analytics and identify opportunities to reduce costs. Candidates will help the organization use data to communicate financial performance and the drivers of the performance
Monitor company financial performance and provide analysis and reporting to support decision making and help reduce overall cost including expenses.
Conduct advanced predictive analysis and leverage data visualization to discover cost drivers
Deliver presentations and consult with ACO companies and leadership, ensuring that all reports and findings are prepared in a clear and comprehensible format
Using data and analysis, design programs and initiatives to impact cost drivers, including measurement and monitoring of initiatives
Use SAS and/or SQL coding to extract claims and membership data for advanced analytic drill downs.
Ensure data integrity for all reporting and analytics
Function as a liaison and assist in managing ongoing relationships with ACO providers.
Conduct analyses to support data-driven insights into medical cost drivers
Assist in the development and maintenance of a sustainable provider data and analytic infrastructure
Lead the financial settlement and reconciliation process with ACO providers
Collaborate with Provider to understand and implement ACO financial contract terms
Develop and communicate periodic financial performance reports
Respond to ACO inquiries and support the provider financial accrual process.
Support negotiation of shared savings and shared risk contract terms with providers
Collaborate with corporate experts in developing sound methodology for forecasting trends
Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management or Finance (Masters preferred) or other related field
5+ years of progressive experience related to managed care and data analytics/reporting
Advanced knowle and experience with statistical analytics tools such as SAS and/or SQL
Experience and strong knowledge of managed care, health insurance and/or similar
Strong working knowledge of MS tools, including full Office Suite and Data Modeling tools
Experience working with large data sets and delivering appropriate conclusions through analysis
Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task and problem solve
Project management skills
Strong communications skills, both verbal and written, are required.
