Position Summary
The Agile Project Manager is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality by delivering business value with an agile mindset. This role is responsible for managing several concurrent high visibility projects using agile methods within a fast-paced environment across multiple business domains. The Agile Project Manager may play several different roles in actual practice:
  • A servant leader acting in a consultative role to drive agile disciplines that optimize team(s) for continuous improvements
  • A techno-functional analyst that breaks down complex problems into organized epics/feature/story map by partnering with business ownership, technical management, architects and engineering resources
  • A passionate technology advocate that strives to be the most valuable partner by focusing on elegant value-added solutions over complacent order taking
In performing these roles, this individual will be expected to have high level of expertise across both traditional project management and Scaled Agile Framework. This role understands how to structure change management plans that mature teams from a waterfall approach to lean agile mindsets.
Responsibilities:
Agile Planning
  • Organize delivery processes including work entry, program incremental planning, feature/story level mapping, grooming, demos and release plans
  • Ensure communications across stakeholder channels to for clear understanding of status, risks, blockers, and decisions
  • Conduct techno-functional data and/or process analysis to support the business in detailed requirements/acceptance criteria elicitation
Team Management
  • Holding team accountable for their commitments and challenging them for continuous improvement
  • Conducting team ceremonies for stand-ups, grooming, retrospectives
  • Managing customer expectations for deliverables and team working agreements
  • Capture performance measurements of team for velocity, quality, lead time and value
  • Prevention and/or removal of blockers that slow cadence
Release Engineering
  • Ensure integration and testing across team(s) for stable deployments
  • Coordination of user training and adoption of new functionality
  • Drive plans to ensure stable steady state production operations
Minimum Work Experience
  • 8+ years of Technical Project Management experience
  • 3+ years of Agile Leadership experience (preferred Scaled Agile Framework SAFe)
  • 3+ years working with Business Intelligence, Data warehouse or Analytics centric development teams
  • 4+ years enterprise applications business processes and data (ERP, CRM, etc.) experience
  • Basic technical abilities for SQL data analysis
  • Advanced understanding of software development lifecycles including service oriented approach, UX design and web application implementations
  • Exposure to Cloud based software development in AWS or Azure
  • Experience driving and maturing continuous integration and quality automations
  • Agile Project management tools such as JIRA, Rally or Version One
  • Proven team player with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic agile work environment
  • Supported a metrics-driven data culture to drive accountability and transparency
  • Passionate problem solver and motivated self-starter including ability to analyze situation and recommend sound solutions and implementation strategies
Additional Desired Skills:
  • Scrum Master and/or Product Owner certifications
  • Experience working as hands on technical resource
  • Exposure to applications developed to support manufacturing quality
  • Experience with MS Dynamics CRM, MicroStrategy BI tools, SAP ERP
  • Consulting experience
Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or combination of education and experience
